BODYS ISEK KINGELEZ

Words cannot explain my excitement when I came across this amazing artist Bodys Isek kingelez, there is something so wonderful about his work...just so so beautiful and awe inspiring...

some info about him...
Bodys Isek Kingelez, born in Congo in 1948, is on the fringe of the African art scene. Made of glued together, coloured and decorated cardboard, paper and other materials, his architectural models (“extrêmes maquettes" / “extreme models") are not imitations of European or African ones, old or new, but uniquely rich combinations of European forms, African styles and hues, classical European ornamentation and futuristic forms.

found via manishtama..many thanks for sharing.

DESIGN COUNCIL SLIDE COLLECTION

VADs is an amazing image resource!...above are slides taken from the design council's annual awards scheme which was started in 1957 in order to promote good design.
The colour and feel of these photographs is superb.
